On Saturday 25th of April Quest Taekwondo hosted a seminar by GB Taekwondo athlete, Damon Sansum. Members of Quest Taekwondo, plus guests from other clubs, were treated to 3 hours of training and competition tips, strategies and techniques.
Over 500 athletes from 20 countries competed at the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships in Edinburgh last weekend. This was the first time the games had been held in Scotland and it was a full house of excited spectators at the Meadowbank Stadium where the championships were held.
Quest took a team to compete at the Austrian Open on the 31st May/1st June. Significantly cheaper flights, and the opportunity for a bit of team rest and relaxation, gave us the opportunity to travel out early Wednesday morning.
2012 Olympic Gold medalist Jade Jones, visited Quest Taekwondo at our Penistone venue on Saturday. The Taekwondo star, who has gained much notoriety since winning Olympic Gold at the age of 19 and subsequently being awarded an MBE in 2013, spent the day coaching Taekwondo athletes of the future.
Paul Green (GB National Squad Coach) and Gareth Brown (GB Junior Squad Coach), both accomplished international Taekwondo athletes and Sports Instructors, conducted a most enjoyable seminar at the Quest Penistone venue last weekend.
Quest Penistone and Quest Leeds took a team of 10 to the All Stars 1-1 Competition at the Doncaster Dome on Sunday.Despite the scorchio temperatures outside, it was a comfortable venue and everything ran really smoothly throughout the day.
