A Successful Weekend of Competition for Quest Taekwondo – Quest Penistone & Leeds at the Doncaster Dome

Quest Penistone and Quest Leeds took a team of 10 to the All Stars 1-1 Competition at the Doncaster Dome on Sunday.  Mike Mckenzie and Karl Mann were coaching, with Mandy Mann undertaking both refereeing and corner judging duties, and Richard Ullyott corner judging.  Despite the scorchio temperatures outside, it was a comfortable venue and everything ran really smoothly throughout the day.

We had 7 wins from 10 players and some great performances.   Most nail-biting performance must have come from Karl Mann’s Quest Leeds student, Bradley Franks, who showed a confident return to competition.  A towering opponent did not stop the head-shots from coming, right up to a 16-16 conclusion and then into golden point which was won by Bradley.  Well done to both opponents for an exciting crowd-pulling match.

Thanks to All Stars for a great competition, Mike and Karl for a long day of coaching, and to all helpers and parents.

Rick Simpson from Quest Bradford, and Ashley Nicholas from Quest Liverpool, took teams to London with Quest taking overall 2nd place Team Trophy.  News from them to follow soon ….
