A Year in the life of Quest Taekwondo 2024
January
The first class at the Quest Taekwondo Centre was on the 2nd January but before that an intrepid team of leaflet droppers had been out posting leaflets.
Quest Taekwondo Centre hosted the British Taekwondo Centre Referee Course giving Mike the opportunity to refresh his Referee knowledge. Betsy and Henry played out scenarios to help the newly qualified Referees and those renewing their qualifications.
The teams first competition of the year was the Keumgang Open in Belgium.
February
Mike travelled to Malta to work as Technical Advisor at the successful Malta Taekwondo Association Annual General Meeting.
The first Holiday Clubs of the year.
The second competition of the year was also an International event. The International Children's Championships in Germany.
Mike made his first school visit to Gooseacre Primary Academy in Thurnscoe.
The first national competition of the year was at the Barnsley Metrodome hosted by Scorpion Taekwondo.
March
School visit to Hoyland Springwood Primary School (Barnsley).
The first Kup grade promotion of the year.
Mike travelled to Sofia Bulgaria to commentate on the European Olympic Selection event.
A small team travelled to Belgium for the first G1/E1 event of the year.
Horizon Taekwondo joined us for a combined training session.

April
Local schools came to the Centre for a Taekwondo taster session, including Horizon Community College (Barnsley).
Shadow Secretary of Sport Stephanie Peacock MP, Marie Tidball MP candidate, John Roberts and Councillor Alex Burnett visited the Quest Centre.
May
Mike visited Schools such as Tankersley St Peter's Primary School.
Quest hosted its first pathway to Performance session on 2024.

Kup and Dan grade promotions.
WLM Taekwondo Club joined us for a combined training session.
The Summer Barbecue was as ever a great success despite the weather!
Quest took 3rd team place at the Premier Open in Huddersfield and also had a Poomsae Team present.
A small team went to the Welsh Open.
July
School visits.
The local Cub Scouts made a visit to the Centre.
Quest did a demonstration in Barnsley Town Centre and have a go sessions at the Whats your Move Big Weekend!

A team went to the Scorpion 1-1 competition.
August
We started the month at the Quest/Wessex Taekwondo Summer Camp in Poole in Dorset.
Television crews from Look North and Calendar visited the Quest Taekwondo Centre for Olympic coverage. A small group of supporters flew the Quest/GB flag in Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Caden won the Silver medal.

Mike travelled to Munich Germany to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Taekwondo Hall of Fame.
September
Caden visited the centre to hold an Olympian Seminar.
Kup grade promotions.
Polish Open G1/E1 – Henry took Bronze.
Mike did a Business presentation in Sheffield.
Quest Taekwondo mentioned by marie Tidball in the Houses of Commons.
October
British Championships at the EIS in Sheffield 7 athletes in total and Matthew became British Champion.

Mike attended the launch of GB Taekwondo's new Para-sport programme
A small team competed at the Dutch Open Championships
We started hosting Birthday Parties at the Centre
The team went to the Scorpion 1-1 in Barnsley
Phase 1 of GB selections for Matt and Izzy
The Cub Scouts visited the Quest Taekwondo Centre
The Quest Games was a massive success.
November
Poomsae Nationals at Arena Sports, KetteringÂ
School visits at Shawlands Primary School (Barnsley), Ellis Church Of England Primary School (Hemingfield), High View Primary Learning Centre (Wombwell), and Horizon Community College (Barnsley).
Paralympian Gold Medalist Amy Truesdale hosted a Paralympian Seminar at the Centre.
Parent Participation Session in aid of Children in Need.
A small team went to the Doncaster Dome 1-1.
Bosnia Open G1/E1 - Henry takes Bronze.
